Nominations Due: October 1, 2025
Purpose: To recognize sustained and distinguished contributions to the field of environmental chemistry by mid-career and established investigators with 10-30 years of experience beyond their graduate and postdoctoral appointments.
Description: One awardee will be selected each year. The awardee will receive a plaque and $2000. The awardee is expected to attend and be recognized at the Spring ACS National Meeting.
Eligibility: The primary criteria for this award are (i) an outstanding research record (50%) and (ii) impactful contributions to ENVR (50%). The nominee’s research record will be evaluated based on excellence in basic or applied research, publications or patents, commercialization of new technologies, and reputation in the field. The nominee’s service to ENVR can include contributions to governance (e.g., service on the Executive Committee), engagement at meetings (e.g., organizing symposia, dedicated record of presentations), service in committees, participation in initiatives (e.g., judging the Certificate of Merit presentations), and other outreach and service that promotes the field of environmental chemistry. Nominees must be in good standing and have at least five years of membership in ENVR at the time of nomination.
Nomination: All nominations must be made by a member of ENVR; self-nominations are accepted. The following information is required:
- Nominator’s name, affiliation, email address, and relationship to nominee
- Full name, professional title, affiliation, and email address of nominee
- ACS membership number and ENVR membership status of nominee
- Nomination letter emphasizing the nominee’s research achievements/impact and service to the ENVR division (less than 1000 words).
- First letter of support for this nomination (less than 1000 words)
- Second letter of support for this nomination (less than 1000 words)
- Nominee’s full CV with a description of their educational background, professional affiliations and positions, previous awards, publication list (with ten most impactful publications clearly identified), funding history, patents, and service record (with priority on service to ENVR)
The nomination package with all the materials should be assembled as one pdf file and sent to the designated email address indicated on the nomination form.
