A certificate of merit is awarded to division members who are students or postdoctoral researchers after they make their first presentation in the Environmental Chemistry Division at a National American Chemical Society Meeting. To receive your certificate of merit, fill out the online form.
The Certificate of Merit is a competitive award available to first-time presenters in the Division of Environmental Chemistry (ENVR) at an ACS National Meeting.
Applicants to the Certificate of Merit program must be members of the ENVR Division. If you are not a current member of the Division, you can join now and still be eligible. If you have previously presented at an ACS National Meeting in another division, you are still eligible for the ENVR Certificate of Merit. The Certificate of Merit is only available to undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers; members in faculty roles are not eligible. If your position is different than the aforementioned roles, please email us at acsenvironmentaldivision@gmail.com to determine your eligibility. All presentation types, including in-person, virtual, oral, and poster, are eligible for the Certificate of Merit.
Presentations will be evaluated by judges from the ENVR Division, and winners will be selected by the Certificate of Merit subcommittee. Applicants will be informed about the status of their application within 30 days of the end of the conference.
