ACS facilitates students attending the United Nations climate talks called the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). There they interview scientists, policymakers, and national leaders and discuss how the known science of climate change may be incorporated into international policy.

Undergraduate and graduate student members of the ACS are eligible to apply to attend the conference. While attending COP and after their return, delegates will share the proceedings and outcomes via social media and events at their home institutions as part of a broader campaign to increase awareness and climate literacy among their peers.

This is the 11th year that ACS has assisted this program. The students’ work is supervised by Professors Gregory Foy and Keith Peterman If you’re interested in attending the upcoming COP, see the application instructions below. Applications will be accepted until TBD.
